International Kites Family Day at Katara Cultural Village

The Kite Festival was held at Katara Cultural Village from 3pm on Friday and Saturday.  We went the first day right at 3pm.  It was really hot!  The kites were really cool.  My favorite was the simple one (below) from Kerela, India.

The octopi kites were provided by professional American kite fliers.  I spoke with the Americans briefly and they let us fly them!

There were many activities going on for kids, such as kite making.

The Japanese kite fliers had a booth where people could sign the Japanese flag with a good luck message.  Later they were flying it.

At night they had the place lit up and a few kites had LED lights in the sky.
