Medi at the Village on Salwa Road

M and I went to Medi at the Village on Salwa Road, which M had tried previously and really liked.  It was good food and quantity for a decent price.  The caesar salad was massive and we only got through about half of the the paella for 2!  They also a bread bowl with many condiments!

Midori at the Pearl

Finally tried the infamous Midori at the Pearl with V.  We got an assortment of sushi, including a Doha Roll!  How cute!  It combined my favorites of salmon and hamour into a maki roll.  Yummy!

Overall it was quite decent with only one hiccup where the staff didn't know how to make one of the items on the menu, which I ordered and asked them what it was and after a long process and discussion finally got them to admit that they didn't know what it was and therefore did not know how to make it.  Hmmmm.

New Gold Souq?

After dinner, M and I went to check out the new Gold Souq?  It's right next to Souq Waqif and contains a lovely interior and of course tons of gold and jewelry.  Kinda like a museum or perhaps like the royal jewels in the Tower of London!  Definitely worth a visit to see all the sparkle!

Ramadan appetizers and drinks

M and I tried out Yum Yum, the restaurant at K108, the new and first boutique hotel in Doha, that donates 100% of its profit to charity and other important causes.  The prices were extremely decent with a lovely filet mignon for only 65QR.  There were complimentary Ramadan appetizers and drinks which were also delicious.  The chef, Hugo Coudurier, was a previous chef in one of the world-renowned three-Michelin-star French restaurants and he uses market ingredients with a French touch.

The Olympics Through Media exhibition at Katara is absolutely fantastic.  Be sure to get a tour by the sweet interns.  They are really knowledgeable and will really make the exhibit!
